On the Regenerative Process of the Hepatic Parenchymal Cells in Parabiotic Rats.
نویسنده
چکیده
In order to investigate on humoral factors concerning regeneration and proliferation of cells, histological, histochemical and micrometrical observations were made on livers of successful parabiotic rats, at intervals during regenerative course of one of the partners which had been partially hepatectomized. Changing pattern in size of hepatic cells was very similar between hepatectomized and non-hepatectomized partners. A considerable increase in number of mitotic figures and binucleate cells as well as in nuclear size, and some histochemical findings which were closely related to mitotic activity were observed only in the hepatectomized partner, as seen in partially hepatectomized single rats. In con<;lusion, the compensatory h yperfunction of hepatic cells was evidenced in the non-hepat ectomized partner after partial hepatectomy of the other, a nd therefore a n exchange of humora l factor concerning stimulation of hepatic function was substantiated. While, the experiment yielded a negative result for the exchange of mitotic stimulating factor.

Regenerative Effect of Bone Marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Thioacetamide-induced Liver Fibrosis of Rats
The present study determined the regenerative effect of bone marrow-derived stem cells (BMSCs) on thioacetamide (TA)-induced liver fibrosis in rats. A total of 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham control and treatment groups. The rats of the sham control group were subdivided into three groups and sampled on the 14th, 18th, and 20th weeks after fibrosis induction. The rats of th...
متن کاملThe Effect of Vitamin E and Selenium on Cyclophosphamide Detoxification in Hepatic Tissues of Mature Rats
Introduction and Objective: liver is an important body organ without which life is impossible. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent widely used as an anti-cancer (“antineoplastic” or “cytotoxic”) chemotherapy drug. The present study aimed to find a suitable antioxidant and examine the effect of vitamin E and selenium on reducing the side effects of cyclophosphamide on liver as a vit...
متن کاملIn vivo effects of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells in a rat model of acute ischemic kidney injury
Objective(s): Renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) as a severe condition of acute kidney injury (AKI) is the most common clinical problem with high mortality rates of 35-60% deaths in hospital. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) due to unique regenerative characteristics are ideal candidates for the treatment of the ischemic injuries. This work is focused on the administration of MSC to IRI-induce...

Background: There is a worldwide effort to present novel approaches for the development of tolerance-induction treatments in regenerative medicine, after years of investigation in clinical transplantation. Particularly, novel approaches are based on controlling the immune response, including the application of biomaterials or imitation of antigen-specific peripheral tolerance in either solid-or...
